This is a front cover for an English exercise book. After filling in the boxes, maybe you can pick a couple of images from the picture The Best of British every now and then and talk about them. It is fully editable - to edit, youll need to delete the red border - it is a text box.

Bernard goes fishing.
Bernard is a lovable cartoon character who gets into all sorts of scrapes - a sort of ursine Mr Bean! He doesnt speak,so is great for teaching English. My ws is based on the episode Bernard goes fishing. I find the humour appeals to children and adults. Present tense focus.

An urban legend: the tale of the missing bride.
A reading comp. I have omitted 12 verbs, just to make them think, but not spoil the flow of the reading. Then they complete the exercises. When they know the story reasonably well, they could do a role play/hotseat activity. I have included two hotseat cards, plus the key to the missing words, in the order they appear.
