HELP PLEASE. WHICH IS THE CORRECT SENTENCE?

Does the basket has any mangoes in it?  OR Does the basket have any mangoes in it?
Similarly : Does he has a pen in his pocket?  OR  Does he have a pen in his pocket?
What are the grammar rules to frame question with has or have in such sentences?

Does the basket have any ...

The rule is: when you talk about he, she or it and you want to make a question you use does as an auxiliary verb and the main verb becomes infinitive without to.

e.g. Does the basket have any mangoes?
Yes, it does. The basket has many mangoes...

With I, you, we or they the rule is:

e.g.  Do you have any mangoes?
Yes, I do. I have many mangoes....

I hope you understand... Good luck!

Has or have serve as auxiliary verbs only when accompanied with got, that is

e.g. Have you got a brother?
BUT: Do you have a brother?

Has he got a brother?
BUT: Does he have a brother?

I  always teach my ss that
Has has three letters in the word so -he, she and it goes with the auxilliary has [three words +three letters = has]
Have has four letters and so- I, you , we and they goes with the auxilliary have [four letters +4 words = have]
I always try to make it as visual as possible for them, because it doesn t matter as much when they are speaking, but  it does when they writing. This way helps them when they do error correction or editing.
I hope I ve made it clear and that it will help you and your students to understand it better.
