Hi everyone! Are you having a nice Sunday? A former student of mine asked my help and opinion about an essay on this topic: �Why would life be meaningless without love?"
He has to focus on the importance/ impact of love in the last stage of life, when we get older and retired. I think it deals with all kinds of love (friendship, romance, parental love...) but I must admit I can �t find a lot of (original ) things to say.
My student talked about "life being a mistake if not filled with love" and his arguments are a bit naive I think. For instance, he wrote: " Once you are retired
and becoming older, they [your children] just sendback all the love you gave them, gratefully, by
paying you visits and by taking care of you in return. Why? Because they
love you and they want to keep you alive!" What do you think, dear colleagues? Why can we say life would be meaningless without love?
