I need your help...

Dear friends,

I need your help!
In an exercise where students had to write the verbs in brackets in the correct tense, there was the following sentence -
"Peter is good at _____________ (play) football."
Is it correct? Can it be considered a verb tense?

 I don t think so!

Thanks in advance.

It seems that what is being tested is...expressions followed by -ing or infinitive...not tenses!

I agree with a isabel, I ve just taught this and it is related to adjectives plus prepositions

Probably the exercise said "Put the verbs in the correct form", and in this case it is correct. You have to use the -ing form.
good at playing football

it is considered as a verb form but not a verb tense. (verb+ing)

It is advisable to test verb form (past participle - gerund - bare inf or full inf)  and verb tenses together. So the instruction of this type of tests will be as follow:
Provide the bracketed verbs form or tense.
