All guesses welcome, have fun!

it sounds to me as it is a word for people liking crosswords because I think that we say this in French !

Cruci means cross.

Verbal means words.

And -ist as in cyclist...

So it must be either a crossword lover - like swissprof said - or someone who creates crosswords!

Okay.. a crucible is a container or vessel and verbal is all about words so maybe it s a container for words ie a  dictionary. Ha! Ha!

Or a person  -ist who has a container -cruc  for verbs  -verb

or a list of verbs kept in a container.

b) somebody who adds explanations to clues in crosswords
c) somebody who speaks so horribly that it hurts to listen, almost as if he/she is cricifying the language...

Hello again,
There was no fooling the French speakers today.
Someone who loves to do crosswords is the answer.

Thanks for playing everyone

Hey Frank,

the solution came before I had the chance of playing!
I ve only just returned from work and wanted to participate.

But OK, since the answer was given right from the beginning, you are forgiven!

AwUnhappy! I had a good idea for what it meant, but you already gave the answer:

I thought it was someone who can "crucify" another person verball--I ve met some people with that talent, when they are done chewing you out you wish you were dead.
