Sounds like a terrible disease! From latin de = removal :
It s when your cubes have been removed. Must be really painful.

De cube it is - non-native speakers pointing out that something is a cube. We would then use this to correct pronunciation - The instead of De . Depending on the level of the student, we might choose to focus on word order (It is the cube ) or use of articles (It is a cube) in order to avoid fossilisation of errors. A substitution drill might be fairly effective here so students apply the structure to other items! Wink

State you get in  after going off sugar cubes in your warm beverages cold turkey.............
"Why is XXX shaking and twitching like that?"
"Oh, hes got a severe case of decubitis. Im still not sure whats worse, he used to get real hyper and obnoxious from the sugar rush when he still took 4 cubes in his coffee, but these spasms arent a pretty sight either..."

Hello!
yes it must be some kind of mental illness that makes you hate "cubes": for example, your ice cubes mustn t have the shape of a cube, if you see a cube you have a compulsion to destroy it immediately...
it s the exact positive of the famous "derounditis" illness...

Decubitus sounds coming from latin , isn t it a bone somewhere in the body
because we say radius for another bone in the leg I think
I remember having heard this from my husband  but I am not 100 % sure

Have a nice week end . The weather is sunny and beautiful in Switzerland
