Toboggan

Hello everybody,

can a water slide  be also called a toboggan ? Or are toboggans connected only with snow ?
Thank you

Hi Denisa,
There are no rules saying you can t call a water slide a toboggan but it is definitely more connected with snow or even a dry slope rather than water.

As a Canadian, where the word originated, I will say that "water slides" are not "toboggans". A "toboggan" is a sled, not a slide... or that is how it is used from where I am from.
