Monday is the start of the (work) week for me and Saturday and Sunday are part of the weekend.

In Judaism and Christianity (and I think Islam, but I m not sure), Sunday is the first day of the week. In the business world, Monday is usually considered to be the first day, since Sunday is part of the weekend.
So, both are correct.
