There have to be 11 players in each team or there has to be 11 players in each team.

Even though I want to say "there has to be"..I think the correct answer is "there have to be" because "players" is plural.

I agree with Douglas. It should be "have to be" because of the plural "11 players".

Again - a corruption of language through use and time. Even though have is grammatically correct - I would bet my old grandmother that millions now use has.

If you ask who? or what? before the verb ("were cowering"), the answer is "three stray kittens," the correct subject. |
