I believe the option of having the elderly poeple live with their families....

The first one doesn�t tell who you are talking about.

You could write:

I believe the option of having the elderly living with their families....(would be the best plan)
or
I believe the option of having the elderly live with their families .....

(people is spelled with the e first)
