Adjective or adverb

Dear all,

I found: Okay, I realized pretty quick that he wasnt technically dead . He was undead.
(from: House of Night - Marked - p.c. and Kristin Cast)

In my opinion it should be quickly. Is quick colloquial and also accepted?

Thank you for answering my question

Hey Mia!

Quickly is correct.  Quick is an americanism , I believe, and is definitely in common usage there.

Hope this helps,

Nemo

Please read the note on usage here  http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictionary/quick_2
And btw it s not necessarily an Americanism.

We do hear "quick" used in this context in the USA, but it is still considered non-standard. It sounds uneducated to me.
