LESSON PLAN CONDITIONAL TYPE II

Hi, dear users!

I would like to ask if anyone has a lesson plan about Conditional type II and teen problems.

This is a work I have to do which includes the following aims:

i) To present and practice the 2nd conditional affirmative/negative and interrogative for hypothetical/unlikely situations in the context of teen eating disorders.

ii) To develop speaking skills in the context of talking about teen problems.

The coursebook is of a Portuguese editor, "New Wave", 8th Grade and the input is a text called "Dying to be thin".

I need some ideas :s

I thank you in advance.

Have a nice weekend!

You could ask them to talk about things that would make them happier bc this might help spot out some teen problems right away. Let them finish the sentence I would be happier if I had/could... (or other verbs) you could use some visuals to help them....
then after reading, you could eleborate on the character s choices (I mean from the article from the book that you ve mentioned) what would you do in a similar situation? you could be wiser and offer them promtps with all the RIGHT choices for the possible problems and they would just have to pick the ones to match thier situation. For example, what would you do if you gained weight? and your prompts could have only one choice that would match this question and your students would be "forced" to choose it, If I gained weight I would exclude fatty foods from my diet and join a gym. or something like that...
You could also browse through the contributions on second conditional here
You might also find some ideas here
