dear native speakers english teachers .....

right now i am teaching reading for a second language class... the pupils are between 8-9 years.my topic is about occupations... my questions are...

1. how do you read  simple present sentences ... for example :

a. a cobbler mends shoes.
b. a greengrocer sells vegetables.

2. do you drop the   s  letter in the verb  mends and sells  when reading the sentences ?
   Thank you for sharing ....
