Dear Helena,
Thank you so much. I have just read the article, but I still wonder why there is an inversion " is the sun" instead of "the sun is". Please tell me why. Thanks again

Hello Qui,

We can use inversion after "as", " than " ,and "so"

Example : City dwellers have a higher death rate than do country people .

( Adapted from PRACTICAL ENGLISH USAGE ( MICHEAL SWAN ) )

Take care,

Thao

http://shanshan-wan.xanga.com/755135828/inversion-after-as-than-and-so/

But notice that, there s no inversion after as , than , so if the subject is a pronoun.

I Think  that this is "unlike the sun".

The answer is definitely C (and not D). Thao is correct that inversion is acceptable, but it sounds very formal, even stilted, to native ears.
