Hello fellow teachers I am going to teach a few adults who intend to leave for Scotland. Do you happen to know any sites where there would be some listenings with recordings from different varieties of the English language.I am much appreciated for you help. You have never let me down. By the way I also would like to make sure if my way of thinking is right. Is it correct to say : You ll see the place after 200 metres or You ll see the place 200 further. Is later in the same sentence acceptable ? ..and later you ll see the place. I am confused about the possibilities. For me the version with further is OK, but I ve heard the other 2 as well.HUGS

You can choose the topic. The speakers and conversations are authentic, and there s a flag for each speaker s nationality.

Hope that helps

You ll see the place after 200 metres or You ll see the place 200 further. Is later in the same sentence acceptable ? ..and later you ll see the place. I am confused about the possibilities.

This is how I would say it:

After you turn the corner you ll see the place 200 metres further on.

Turn right at the bank, and the place is 200 metres further.

Later refers to time.

Walk down this road and turn right at the bank. Keep walking and you ll get to the place 5 minutes later.

Well see the shops first and visit the castle later.
