need help again and i know you īll be there for me, as always!

hi,

my next task with my pupils will be "calling 911 to explain a family member has had an accident (cut himself, electrocuted himself, burnt himself, is chocking etc...) and needs help." then i will ask my pupils to write an article for the "news in brief" page of the local newspaper to explain what happened...

I have already one video showing a woman calling 911 to explain her neighbor had a heart attack (from an episode of Switched At Birth) and this morning I found this article  http://articles.latimes.com/1989-10-11/local/me-108_1_calls-mother-year

could you possibly help me find other videos and articles in which someone has a domestic accident (INSIDE the house, or eventually in the garden), nothing to do with a crime - i want it to be an accident to teach my kids about domestic accidents as well and what to do - and with a "happy ending" (nobody died, the ambulance arrived on time...), about another accident (something other than chocking or heart attack).

i found that series of videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dELXyakvjzc called Rescue 911 but they īre not really suitable because of the voice explaining what happened: I need to hear clearly the dialogue between the 911 operator and the person who calls...

Thanks!!!

Hi Elodie

Maybe these might be ok

You īll find 8 mp3s for calling an ambulance at http://ames.edu.au/ames-your-english-solution/news/free-teaching-resources. These are Australian resources.  Our emergency number is 000 (triple zero).

Cheers

Hello dear Elojolie274,

I love your idea about emergency calls!Thumbs Up  With what class are you planning to work on this topic?
Would you mind sharing with us the 1st video you mentioned in your 1st post, pleaaaassee?

And Chuppacricri, I may be interested in the documents you suggested, but as I work in a college I don īt have "Hands on" Belin 1čre Term bac pro". Would you have some time to send me the audiofile of the dialogue & its script, please? If you īre looking for a particular topic, feel free to ask, I īd be glad to exchange worksheets or files with you, although we don īt teach the same levels.

Thanks a lot for your help,  dear colleagues! Hug
have a quiet Sunday evening!

i will do that with A2-B1 pupils
--> 5e: i īm saving at home / dangers around the house, what to do if you have a common accident at home, first aid tips - found on the website http://www.redcross.org.uk/en/What-we-do/Teaching-resources/Teaching-packages

--> 4e: i īm saving lives when i īm abroad / dangers for a tourist in Australia (Enjoy 4e has a few documents), what to do if you have a common accident at home, first aid tips

the video I mentionned can be found here: http://1drv.ms/1obDaPW - it īs only an extract of the episode though...

in case you want to have the lesson plan (a lot of French + it īs a work in process it will take weeks of creating/finding documents to finish it) just let me know
