This song is funky and fits your criteria: it includes questions with the "did" auxiliary and with the simple past of "to be": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0AkMPAQ-h0 (lyrics here: http://www.lyrics.com/smiley-faces-lyrics-gnarls-barkley.html). The second half is in the present tense but maybe you could make that into an exercise for the pupils to put it into the preterite?
A top tip - I found this by searching for "what did you" on lyrics.com and then all the songs including the phrase popped up. It �s a great way of finding songs that include particular items of vocabulary. |
