imp

Dear teachers,

Would you please tell me if the following sentence is correct or not. If not would you please tell me why? and how to correct it?

"To imp your child for the future"

Using the transitive verb "imp" as defined in Merriam Webster "to equip with wings"

Thanks for your help.

First, this isn t a sentence, since it doesn t have a subject and a verb (other than the infinitive).

"to imp" is not at all a common verb, so I wouldn t recommend using it.

I wanted to use it to summarize our purpose and imp was supposed to be an abbreviation of (Intellectually  - morally - physically),

but if you think I shouldn t ...then I ll try to find something else...

thanks Bruce for your help

The only imp I know is this. And he s no verb - that s for sure. Greetings to all Game of Thrones fans! :)))

I can confirm that (1) nobody will ever have heard of imp as a verb, and (2) Game of Thrones is awesome :)

Rommaya, I imagine you mean something like equip , prepare , either of which would certainly be better understood.
