Hi all,

I m asking for advice on making a choice for my professional development.

I currently have :

BA Performing Arts
6 years ESL teacher experience
TEFL Certificate
TKT Modules 1,2,3, YL, CLIL

I am trying to decide if I should do:

DipTesol
DELTA
Go the whole hog and do a BA EdSc English (basically a qualified school english teacher).

Either way, I will have to any of the above courses ONLINE as I live and work in China.  I am still a full time teacher.

I d like to know what the more experienced and qualified teachers think - and anyone who can recommend a program for international students who need to study online.

Thanks!

Hi N.F.T.

I d recommend a TESOL university post graduate qualification - certificate, diploma or masters.  The latter opens many doors.  There are many reputable universities that offer online options.

Cheers

If you re interested in moving up the ladder, you can apply for the "Educational Leadership" program through Memorial University of Newfoundland. They offer 1 class per session and many possible ways to complete the program either through courses and or actual projects. I just completed my degree and it qualifies me for principal/vice principal throughout Canada. Tuition is decent if you re Canadian, just check it out further if your not in Canada. Good luck!

Just watch out when doing an online course. Many if not most employers rule out hiring teachers with online degrees. Do some research into whether schools you d like to work for accept them or not.
