Would u kindly please help me with the following questions:

Rewrite the following using the words between brackets:

1. Jack hasn tgot any fiends. (doesn t)
"Jack doesn t get any friends." Is it correct?
2. Tom is not as quiet as his brother. (Tom s brother)
"Tom sbrother is not asloudasTom." Is it correct?
Can I describe a person as being loud? Does it mean noisy???

First one should be:

Jack does not have any friends.

(Your version - "Jack doesn t get any friends." -is incorrect)

2. Loud does not seem right. Normally, you cannot use loud for describing people. Noisy would be proper.

Hence,

"Tom s brother is not as noisy as Tom."    or "Tom s brother is not so noisy as Tom."

Hope this helps.

Of course you can use loud to describe a person, as in "many British people think Americans are loud and vulgar" (not, I hasten to add, a sentiment I could possibly agree with).

almaz,
I believe, given the context, it would be proper to use noisy instead of loud.

Almaz makes a good point (but which one? ;-)))
I agree that in this context, noisy would be better. Outgoing may also be suitable. When we say kids are quiet, we quite often mean that they are reserved and not very forthcoming.

I think the best choice for #2 is "Tom s brother is quieter than Tom."
