help with verb patterns

Hi everyone!

I really need your help this time since I have taught and we have revised verb patterns with some students a zillion times but they can´t remember them! I´ve tried several things but nothing seems to work and they get pretty upset when they can´t remember. They told me they want rules but the only one I could come up with was like, enjoy, love, hate, etc + ING,
Any suggestion/idea will help me a lot! Some time ago, I had found a crazy idea in internet but I can´t find it now.

Thanksssssss!

Have a great week :)

I don t know all the pattern rules, but this one can complement the one you already have .

https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/627/3/ shows which verbs take an infinitive.

Example: Most students plan to study.

(edited) In addition there are other paterns as this series of videos shows. He gives some examples, but it seems that learners still must memorize which verbs fit the paterns.
