Thank you to everyone who took "pityriasis" on my Word of the Day. Most of the "daffynitions" played off of the pity angle, although redcamarocruiser used pi instead, and loboclaud had Isis �s cell phone explode. But, as a teacher, I really liked isa2 �s second entry:
 
"It ´s a condition that overcomes female teachers when they correct their students ´ tests. They think of all the sorrow that they cause with an F grade. So they pity the victims of their strictness so much that they cannot help giving a better grade."
 
So, isa, it �s up to you for the next word!
 
By the way, pityriasis is a skin condition that causes red blotches to break out. It may be the result of an infection; doctors don �t really know. It �s itchy for some people, but I �m lucky that my patches were just ugly and flaky. My ptiyriasis is nearly gone now. Here �s a picture of someone else �s pityriasis:
