Phil Collins: Another day in paradise. Printable Song + Printable Flashcards + Printable Factsheet (Raising awareness).

I’m the course tutor of a group in Spain and I decided to play this beautiful song by Phil Collins three years ago with the aim of raising awareness among my students. I wanted to make them realize how privileged we are because of belonging to the so-called "1st world". I have to say that it is one of the best memories I’ve got so far when it comes to working with students in the classroom. Not only were they completely speechless but you could also tell by the look in their eyes that the song as well as the information which I had provided on poverty pulled at their heartstrings. Needless to say, the answer was a resounding: "YES, WE DO WANT TO SPONSOR A CHILD!" on asking for their opinion; so that’s what we did -and that’s what we’ve been doing until now. The girl’s name is Sotheary and she’s from Cambodia. I’m intensely proud of them.
