I usually introduce the vocabulary first in this lesson: dolphins, lobsters, etc. Then have the students read the poem and answer the reading comprehension questions using the correct grammar. The kids then draw a picture of what they think the mermaid swimming school looks like (which they love to do) and then they can practice writing their own story.
