Teaching Methods, a Teacher Training Seminar
This seminar was presented to Ukrianian teachers to demystify the different approaches to language learning. Basics of Direct Method, Audio Lingual, Grammar Translation & Communicative Method are all given, including a way to present each of them.
This lesson plan includes a great communicative activity, which involves students finding partners and using basic beginner skills, such as introducing yourself and finding out about another personīs hobby, job, family, name, age, etc. This activity was created by another Peace Corps Volunteer and handed down year after year.
Even if you are not teaching teachers, it is a great resource for understanding each of the methods as they are simplified and clearly spelled out.
