I am now, after more than 5 decades in the work force, officially semi-retired. New hobby: gardening. Old hobby restarting: table tennis. I still have some classes to teach and materials to design, many of which I will continue to share with the dear members of ESLPs. You may come across my materials on Facebook and my blog.

What are they playing? games flash cards 1-12 of 24
These go with another of my What are they playing? worksheets, the one that focuses on childrens games. I created them because many students may not know these games. In pair work one child hold the card and ask What (game) are they playing?, then they ask a follow up question such as Do you like playing/want to play? The pictures are high...

What are they playing? (3 of 3) In colour and grayscale
This completes my mini project of What are they playing? worksheets, so now your students should understand the 3 uses of the word play; play with certain sports, music and games. As you can see I have uploaded 24 flash cards to go with this worksheet. Children can use the list of sports to assist them in completing the worksheet. Hope you li...

What are they playing? (2 of 2) In colour and grayscale
I decided to do one more related to music as I thought it good to contrast these two forms of play using musical instruments and sports. Children can use the list of musical instruments to assist them in completing the worksheet. Buzz, buzz. Here is the other one: http://www.eslprintables.com/printable.asp?id=652200#thetop

Play, Do, Go: in colour and grey scale with answer key
See what sports the animals do (and play) and simply explain the verb usage with this worksheet, which is ideal for teaching the usage of play, do and go in relation to sports. If you have young or visual learners or if you are struggling to explain this point to your students, then you need this. Good timing for the Olympics.

What did they buy? in colour and greyscale with keys
I was looking for something simple that practiced countable and uncountable nouns without explaining the grammar and whilst looking I saw one of Evelinas old worksheets which really helped me in my design. I suggest challenging your students to complete the shopping lists first and then they can self-check by completing the two criss cross puzzles...
