Alliteration
I use this handout to teach my 9th graders alliteration. Poetic terms are on our End of Course Test from the State of Georgia and on our English Language Arts Graduation Test, so we are always looking for a way to teach them. I hope that it helps someone else, too.

Before I taught The War of the Worlds, I did some nonfiction activities about Earth and Mars. There are two charts of information. A picture of the two planets, questions, fill-in-the-blank sentences with a word bank, and an interesting picture of what NASA believes to be a Martian fossil. Also, there is an answer key.
