Talk for a minute starting with....
Laminate and cut the sheet into strips. Give each student a strip. The students have to each talk for a minute on their subject starting with the given lead-in (not stating the theme). The rest of the group try to guess the title of the given speech. (Idea taken from Keep Talking by F. Klippel)

An authentic advertisement from a daily newspaper.Possible new words are highlighted, questions are asked on the text and beyond the text. Matching phrases an their use in other sentences have been added as well as a focus on prepositions used in the text all around the theme of energy saving.

This device is a British peculiarity! An alarm wakes you up to an "already made" cuppa! (Hence the name.) Who else could have felt the need to invent a machine to do such a thing?
