Reading Comprehension exercise
This reading will give practice on the past continuous forms USED TO and WOULD. I heard this story on the radio - a fellow saying he always used to measure the heads of any boyfriends his daughters brought home and it made me laugh out loud! Can you believe it? ;-)

Comic Sans, a wonderful/awful font
This font arouses strong feelings in many people. I remember being disgusted when the SENCO (special needs teacher) at our school sent me an email in Comic Sans;-) Now, I sort of love it. It is like a big bar of delicious, melted chocolate that you cant resist. Yes, you eat/use it, but then you feel slightly guilty/ashamed...

Harry Potter vs Gandalf
This powerpoint compares Harry with Gandalf. There are a number of activities: two clozes - missing words and missing vowels, a true or false and pictures that can be used for memory games/guessing games or splat. (Ive had to reduce picture size to get in the limit, but you can easily enlarge them....

What did Anne Boleyn, unfortunate wife of Henry the 8th, look like?
I have just returned from a visit to Hever castle, birthplace of darling Anne Boleyn. She was so badly done to, poor soul, by that foul monster Henry the 8th. All portraits of her were destroyed after her fall from grace. I think these two images - a miniature and a sketch, are her!

The clues first, then the image flies in. This is not an original idea. Also, the last slide isnt really about Christmas, but I couldnt resist! ;-)
