"Raise your hand", a song worksheet with activities
This is a worksheet I made to help my students with learning difficulties to work on the topic of school rules but it can be used with low-level classes as well. I have used the song "Raise your hand" of the Sesame Street series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei_A9QM6UcE which is my favourite for the beginning of the school year. The video can be ...

POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES using STICKMAN by Julia Donaldson
For those who would like to use literature in their classes, Stickman, by Julia Donaldson, is one of the best books for topics like winter, Christmas, family, rules, home/house, relations and so forth. You can always use the video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3lCfKhsOsY. I have already uploaded another worksheet that I used with thi...

School objects for young learners 3
This is the third worksheet of the set. The pupils here have to identify the words in the puzzle and then copy them under the correct picture. It can work fine as a pair- or group-work activity in order for the weaker pupils to feel more confident. As a follow-up, you can ask them to come to the board and write the words in capital letters. The hid...

Friday Im in love, The Cure
I made this worksheet for my 4th graders in order to practise the days of the week, but you can use it also for likes/dislikes, feelings and vocabulary learning. My students had never heard of the band but they enjoyed the song anyway. After watching the video clip, they found the band quite odd! I hope you find it useful for your classes!

I wish I knew how it would feel to be free, John Legend
A very good song for practising the structure "I wish I could...". You can listen to the song at http://youtube/Nz2k0IH-b7A. You can have a discussion about various issues and also practise inferencing with page 5. The crossword can help you practise vocabulary too. I hope you like it!

School objects for young learners 1
This is the first worksheet of a set I have created to revise/practise school objects with my kids. They are designed for pupils who are at the initial stages of reading and writing. They have to cut the pictures at the bottom, paste them in the right box and colour them according to the instructions on the left-hand side box. Then they have to cop...

Aesops fable, The Owl and the Grasshopper
I used this fable with my 6th graders. I love Aesops stories because they are rich in contextual vocabulary and life messages. The original text comes from a book with Aesops fables. I read the fable to them and I also focussed on vocabulary through the second exercise (vocabulary in context). I hope you find it useful. Dont miss out my workshee...

The Jungle book, Walt Disney, follow-up video activity
I used these captions to retell the story of Mowgli after having seen the movie. There are 15 captions, each for each student, but if you have larger classes you can give each caption to one pair of students. You can also put up the captions on the board and divide the class in two groups. After giving them some minutes to decide the order, you can...
