World History Part A: Nomads to Greece
Part A from a set of slides used to introduce/review World History (from a U.S. perspective). I print them out, 6 or 9 per page, then cut them up into separate small flash cards. Students work in groups (preferably) to sort the pictures out into chronological order. This helps them focus on tools of history such as comparing drawings/photos to see which came first; encourages language development related to history as students find ways to explain their ideas; and provides a historical framework which teachers and students then fill in with details. (I reduced file size as much as possible, but still had to separate the slides into 8 uploads since they are very visual--perfect for ESL students, but bulky to export. Sorry.)
