Dear Alakhthou,

You can use both versions for negation īdidnīt used toī and īdidnīt use toī. And īdidnīt used toī is more common unbeliavable as it may seem.

I agree with other comments. Students should be taught "didnīt use to".
(as opposed to didnīt used to)
