Egg experiment vacuum
This a fun experiment. Ask the students how to get the boiled egg into the bottle(The egg is bigger than the neck of the bottle).
How to do it: Light some paper and drop it into the bottle. Place the egg immediately onto the neck of the bottle. The air inside will burn creating a vacuum and the egg will be sucked in even though itīs bigger than the neck.
Then get them to write up the experiment in the passive. For example:
First, an egg was boiled and peeled.
For each stage the students can illustrate it.
Finally they write why the egg ws sucked into the bottle (vacuum created). Then the reason for the passive is the person performing the experiment is unimportant, not neccessary. Hope you have fun with it!
