Short Vowel Minimal Pairs (Triplets) Phonics Game Powerpoint
Each colored slide has a list of three words where only the short vowel is different (not all are real words), e.g. lip, lap, lop. This also serves as a template for making your own sets of three words.
I use this to practice short vowel listening with my 6-8 yr. old students. I give two students each a rolled-up newspaper. They stand on either side of the projection screen, then I read one of the words, and they smack the one they think it is with their newspaper, and get a point if they hit the correct one. Winner is the one with the most points after ten slides. There is no interactivity programmed into the PPT, just the teacher keeping track on a sheet of paper or whiteboard.
