“one” to substitute a noun (‘I want THAT one!’)
Have you, like me, ever noticed certain key concepts in English rarely, if ever, crop up in course books? This really bugs me! The use of “one” to substitute a noun already referred to is one such instance of this. Here are a couple of ideas of how you might practise this in role plays.
These role plays are not intended to be complete (as you’ll notice they aren’t!), but just to give you other teachers out there an idea that you can then feel free to adapt to your level and needs.
