Gangster Lesson (warm up for film The Untouchables)
1. Present first half of first page to the class on the OHP. Get students to make guesses.
2. Show them the other half which has an original photograph of Al Capone. If they havent guessed at this stage, ask them to describe the person in the picture: What does he look like? What´s the expression on his face? Does he look like Mr Nice Guy?, etc.
3. Page 2, Activity 1: fill in the blanks with appropriate preposition. Brief biography of Al Capone.
4. Page 2, Activiy 2: General knowledge: How much the students know about a particular stage of American history, e.g. the roaring 1920s, the Prohibition Era, etc.
5. Specific vocabulary related to the world of crime, the mob, etc.
