common idioms
This worksheet gives the meaning of 15 common idioms. The students should look at the idioms, and the meanings, and then write a sentence using that idiom. The purpose of this is to clarify the meaning of the idiom, and allow them to be confident in using the idioms.
After completing, the students should read the examples they wrote. This can be done in pairs, for a large class, or individually for a smaller class. When reading to the class, the teacher should be ready to correct errors and misuse, for the students benefit
