SENTENCE BURGERS: CONNECTING CLAUSES
This is a sheet which is useful in helping students to get their heads round the structure of sentences. I introduce the idea of sentences as being like burgers (meat and bun!). Without the essential ingredients, it would taste disgusting! As a starter activity, cut out lots of separate clauses and connectives and have the students literally run around the class trying to match clause and connective and ´making´ burgers. They love it:).
