Earano
In this is short (13 minute) sweet romantic comedy film based on the play Cyrano de Bergerac, teacher Earl longs for romance with lovely librarian, Roxie, but because of his oversized ears, believes he has no chance. This would be a great film to do around Valentineīs Day. It includes an east European character who gets an English language lesson about what to say during a date. In the original story, messages were sent by letter. In this modernisation, they are sent as texts by phone.
The one-page worksheet has pre-discussion questions and a gap fill.
WARNING:
This worksheet includes a question about physical disability, clearly an issue that may need sensitive handling in class. The film has a positive message about this issue: showing how such a disability (unusually large ears) should be no obstacle to social acceptance or love.
