This is a game template that should be handed out after explaining the rules to Scattergories. One letter of the alphabet is chosen and students have a specific amount of time to think of (and write down) words beginning with that letter for each category. You can choose a letter by having one student say the alphabet in his/her head and another student say, "Stop!" When the other student says "Stop!" he/she must say the letter aloud. Start the timer and begin the game. Once their time is up, students read their answers aloud. Scoring is as follows: 10 pts per original word (i.e. the letter is "D" and everyone says "dog," but one student says "duck," so they get 10 pts), 5 pts per correct word (i.e. everyone who said "dog" gets 5 pts). Students must use one row per round. This template is good for ten rounds, using ten different letters. Students can work alone or in teams. Have fun!
