Have you ... yet? Yes, I have already/just ... / No, I havenīt ... yet. Editable cards Have you ... yet? Yes, I have already/just ... / No, I havenīt ... yet. Editable cards

This activity is a semi-controlled practise of the present perfect in combination with the adverbs just, already and yet. The teacher can elicit from the students what they need to do to organize a party - the students will say "buy drinks", "send invitations" etc... and write the list on the whiteboard, adding two columns called "already/just" and "not yet". Then the teacher demonstrates the activity by asking one student: "Marco, have you sent the invitations *yet*?" (teacher nods). Marco can reply "Yes, I have *just* sent the invitations." So the teacher adds a tick in the "already/just" column. The teacher asks another student: "Maria, have you bought the drinks *yet*?" (teacher shakes head). "No, I havenīt bought the drinks *yet*. Iīll buy them this afternoon." So the teacher adds a cross in the "not yet" column. Stress yet/just/already during the demonstration (highlighted between *...*), to remind the students to use them during the activity. Now the students can work in pairs and ask questions from the check list to each other to find out what has and what hasnīt been done. Important. Before they start, go through the verbs to make sure the students are familiar with the past participles of the irregular verbs in the cards.
