Exams are close and my students have to repeat the difference between simple past and present perfect... I created this worksheet in dialogue-style so that it´s easier for them to understand the difference. Hope it´ll be useful for you as well :)

I downloaded and I will use it in my lessons. However, some edition and correction would be nice, for example the number 6 "Uncle Mike ___________(often+to take) me to the zoo at the weekend". This is Simple Present and the worksheet is about Simple Past or Present Perfect. Number 7 and some others, add the inverted commas (" ") because they are dialogues. Number 9, the second answer suggests Past Perfect. "My father ______________ (to win) the lotto last Wednesday. He was so happy. He ______________________ (never+to win) anything before." Answer: He had never won anything before. It is because you said he WON the lotto last weekend and before that weekend, he was never lucky to win anything. That was the FIRST time, OK? Hugs!
