Virtual Fly Swatting Game for ONLINE teaching and IWBs (editable vocab set)
I teach very young learners kindergarten and am currently teaching online by Zoom. Ive needed to create games and activities for students with very little language ability that keep them engaged, even though we may be doing the same thing, just in a different way. I tried to think of ways I could take regular games online. This is a fly swat game, but I use it in a productive way, since I have to push the buttons on PowerPoint to choose a number. Children can choose either a number or a color (to practice those) and the fly swat moves across and hits a piece of vocabulary, which they have to name. Its very simple, and is designed for very young learners as an alternative to boring them by constantly showing them a slide deck and asking what it is. You can change the vocabulary set to your own - the instructions are in the PowerPoint.
