Create your own recipe
In this activity students will have the opportunity to create their own recipe. It is simple yet effective. I tried this with all my classes and they all loved it! Students really have fun with this one.
Outline:
-Develop recipe vocabulary with students based on images:
-Food ingredients (fruits, vegetables, meats, etc.)
-Cooking vocabulary (boiling, frying, etc.)
-Food adjectives (sweet, sour, tasty, bland, etc.)
-Students get into groups of 3-4 and use the vocabulary to create recipes. Creativity is emphasized.
-Students present their recipes to class.
-The class votes on the most creative recipe. This motivates them to really come up with something interested.
