English powerpoint: Western Superstitions Western Superstitions

I like to use this one right before Halloween. It contains Western superstitions with explanations. I add more information verbally with each slide. When the Western Superstitions are finished, I have the kids get together and tell me some Chinese Superstitions. Sometimes I offer bonus points if they can tell me ones that I don;t already know. ie Superstitions not on the presentation.

Hi Te_karen,
thanks for sharing. I would like to add an information regarding Friday the 13th. It is believed that the people of Israel left Egypt on the day 13th; many people died on that day in Egypt, but no one from Israel died.
In Israel 13 is usually not considered bad luck, because when the Israelis left Egypt it was alreday 14th, since their new day starts at 6 pm.

cheers
S.
