Art with Shapes
I had a hard time thinking of an art assignment for middle school students that uses an appropriate amount of English, but wasnīt totally juvenille. This is what came to me, and they really liked it.
They had to cut out shapes, but what they didnīt know was that afterwards (after I took away their scissors) they would create a picture out of their shapes... and their garbage.
Some of them got really creative with having to use their garbage. I told them that they could rip, fold, scrunch, or roll... but not cut.
It was a good art project, and everyone was happy with the results at the end.
