Song - If I had a million dollars - 2nd conditional
This is a fun activity if you like songs and need more practice on the 2nd conditinal. This is how to proceed:
-Pair up students and have them discuss the questions on the second slide with a partner;
-Tell students to do the matching exercise together with a partner (it’s important that they write down all the words, not only the numbers, any draft paper will be fine); (Key: 1 – E, 2 – A, 3 – D, 4 – C, 5 – B, 6 – G, 7 – F, 8 – J, 9 – H, 10 – I)
-After slide no. 5, play the video clip (there you’ll find a video clip with no subs); (key: 1 – Chesterfield, 2 – Ottoman, 3 – K-car, 4 – Tree fort, 5 – Fridge, 6 – Llama, 7 – Emu, 8 – John Merrick, 9 – Limousine, 10 – Kraft dinner)
-Slide no. 6 – Make sure students’ sentences are correct, since they will be asked to sing them aloud;
-Slide no. 7 – Play the video clip once again (now a version with the lyrics), and ask students to sing, one by one, what they’ve written (If I had a million dollars, I’d…).
I hope you enjoy it, have fun!!!
