English powerpoint: Once upon a time Once upon a time

This listeing activity has Worked really well in large classes, middle school and high school level particularly. Put students into teams, 4-5 is a good number. Give each team a blank piece of paper. Tell each team they must write down the story you are about to tell them, exactly. Also tell them that each student must write at least one part of the story (there are 7 different sentences). Read the story, repeating each sentence 3 or 4 times (depending on the level). When finished get each team to swap the papers and count how many errors each team has. Read the story again - this time showing the powerpoint, so students can correct the errors. In the remaining part of the lesson get each team to think and write down a suitable ending - feedback ideas and give a prize for the best one! (the story worked very well in a boys high school in Korea - may want to change theme of story for a girls class). Lesson time between 40-50 mins.
