Adverbs (ESL Speaking Lesson)
I used this Powerpoint Slideshow for a speaking lesson on Adverbs. Slides 2,4 can be used to give the students examples of Adverbs and to specify the differences between using Adjectives in sentences and how the sentence gets modified when the Adjective is converted to an Adverb.
Slide 3 gives a grammatical description.
Slides 5-10 can be used by the teacher to gauge how effective the previous four slides have been.
Slide 11 can be used either in a free speech session or can be turned into groupwork as a game. Winners are the group which can give the teacher the maximum number of sentences using Adverbs. Slide 12 has a list of Adjectives, in case the students need some extra inspiration :-).
