The UK - smartboard lesson - the missing page :o)
This is the page which I couldnt upload because it was too big. I made the file smaller by removing an internet link - but youål find it here, because I believe that short video can be interesting for students to watch and a good listening practice, too. Here´s the description of the content of the whole file as I promised:
page 1 – geography: when you click on a flag, the map will show you, where that country part is,when you click on a country´s name the capital will appear on the map, you can move the light blue rectangle and uncover the information in pink rectangles. I had to remove a link from the page (it made the file too big) but
I still recommend it – it´s a short video about the UK trivia. It´s http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6pwWPuZQ2_I
another great and short video (about 4minutes and subtitled is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKzD9fAyD_Y
page 2 – national symbols: for each part of the UK there are 5 dots on the right and on the left; click on a dot on the left and a picture will appear, click on a dot on the right – the name of the object in the picture will appear; grey arrows return you back
page 3- symbols of the monarchy – just spin the wheel and pictures will appear in the cut window; click on the picture and its name will appear
page 4- there are people and objects associated with either the UK or the USA. Pull a Picture through the „cup gate“ and place it to the area for „British“ or „Not British“. The picture will stay in its place only if you don’t make a mistake. Otherwise it will return to the place where it was taken from.
page 5 – places of interest - you can move the blue rectangle to discover the names of the places in the pictures. When you click on the blue dot next to a picture, a website with more information will open
I hope I´ve made it clear enough :o)
